Mountain Haven has the following self-catering facilities:

• We offer comfortable budget accommodation, 2, 4 or 6 sleeper family units. Please note 6 sleeper units have 2 double beds in separate rooms upstairs and 2 bunks (suitable for children or young adults) in lounge.  4 Sleepers contain seperate bedroom with double bed and 2 bunks in lounge. Unless you are close family or friends, we recommend separate units as there is only 1 bathroom per unit.

• All units are self-catering with basically equipped kitchenettes (hot plates, kettle, bar fridge, toaster, pots, pans, plates, microwave, etc.),
• En suite shower and toilet,
• All with views of the surrounding grasslands and forests,
• Main undercover entertainment area with braai/fireplace, other outdoor braai areas in a pleasant garden setting,
• We will point you in the right direction if you wish to go unattended or provide guided walks to all the most interesting places,
• We are part of the village of Kaapse Hoop, (the nearest pubs and restaurants are 100 metres away) but situated on the outer edge, facing the escarpment with views of the grasslands, forests and Blue Swallow Reserve

Central to most major attractions in Mpumalanga.  
There are many activities in the immediate vicinity:

• Picnics by the dam at the Pear Orchard (1 km away), where you can also braai, swim and there is space to play family sports and games,
• Exploring the unusual rock formations of Duiwels Kantoor (Devil's Office) overlooking the village (200 metres away),
• Historical and Ghost Tour, from it's wild and often gruesome beginnings Kaapsehoop was the main town in the area, long before Nelspruit and Baberton, it became a ghost town virtually overnight. 1 or 2 and half hour tours can vary depending on your interest, can include graveyard, tribal, boer war and/or early local history and some of the characters that changed the history of South Africa and the world. Please note:  Due to recent fire and environmental concerns all people who wish to go to the waterfall must now get a R20.00 permit available in village.  Please ask Manager on arrival for details.
